Signs Your Plumbing System Needs Repair

Plumbing systems play an important role in every building. Sooner or later, your plumbing system may be in need of some kind of maintenance, so it’s a good idea to keep an eye out for potential issues.

Here are a few common signs that your plumbing system may need to be repaired, or maybe even replaced:

Discolored water: Brown or yellow water is a sign of rust, which could be caused by old pipes or if the water main in your area is damaged. If your water is cloudy, it probably means there is air in your pipes, while green or blue water is a sign of corrosion.

Noisy Pipes: Knocking noises can be caused by issues such as high water pressure, loose valves, and weak supports. It could result in a lot of damage, and could even be dangerous, so if you hear weird noises, don’t ignore it!

Slow Draining: If it takes an abnormally long time for water to drain, there may be a blockage. If the problem can’t be fixed by cleaning the drain with cleaners or tools, there could be a bigger problem with your system such as a broken pipe.

Low Water Pressure: There are multiple things that could prevent your water from flowing in a steady stream, such as clogs, corrosion blockages, and leaks.

Puddles, Stains and Mold Growth: If you notice puddles under your sink or on the floor, you may have a leak or a damaged faucet. Stains or wet spots on the walls or ceilings probably mean you have a leaking water pipe. Mold growth is also a sign of leakage, so be on the lookout for the sight and smell of mold.

Dripping Faucets: Dripping faucets could mean the water pressure is too high, or your faucet valves may be broken. Although it may not seem like a major issue, it could lead to bigger problems overtime.

While these are some of the most common signs of a plumbing problem, there are other things that could point to an issue that needs attention. So, if you notice anything out of the ordinary, don’t put it off. By addressing the problem early on, you could potentially save money and avoid further damage.

If you have noticed any of these things, or you have noticed that something is not working properly, call Action Mechanical, Inc. today. We are licensed to repair and install all types of plumbing systems.

Trimble

Trimble Job Site Solutions Total Station transfers CAD data to the job site via the Trimble MEP Nomad wireless hand held device. This technological leap eliminates the need for manual measurements on the job site, saving time and reducing costly errors.

VDC

Autodesk Fabrication CADmep and CAMduct are detailing tools used to generate production drawings such as ISO spools, coordination overlays, or 3D spatial coordination with Navis Works. The use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) eliminates the inefficiencies of the traditional method of Design-Bid-Build and two-dimensional (2D) drawings by facilitating collaboration among project team members and by illustrating the project design through three-dimensional (3D) visualization.
